Cramlington Rockets RLFC
Cramlington Rockets are one of the UK's leading rugby league clubs, having come runner up in the 2016 RFL National Club of the Year award. They have over 230 players from Tots to adults. Their award-winning Rockets Community department works with around 30 partner schools across Northumberland and North Tyneside, using sport to make a difference in the community. The club has 40 volunteers with diverse backgrounds, several of which have been recognised both nationally and regionally. They include RFL qualified coaches, RFL accredited referees, RFL Touchline Managers, catering staff, child welfare officers and club photographers and more. We are always looking for more and happy to discuss opportunities.
New volunteers are fully funded by the club in their relevant qualifications. We are working with the RFL to increase the number of volunteers to accommodate our continued growth in player numbers.
We have a strong code of conduct, linking to the RFL’s RESPECT and Anti-Bullying campaigns. We look to instil qualities in the children that will benefit them throughout life.
We are working towards the CLUBMARK award - the highest distinction of quality an amateur club of any sport can have.
We teach our players that an honest effort and playing to the best of their abilities is just as important as a victory. Self-confidence, teamwork, leadership and having a healthy lifestyle are just some of the qualities we encourage, but most of all, we want them to have FUN!
All volunteers can expect expert guidance and support from our fully qualified staff and the opportunity to learn about the role in a practical environment. Enthusiasm is just as important and experience.
